Job purpose: To plan, direct, and coordinate the nighttime operations, activates, and personnel in ABCO’s Distribution Center, with a specific focus on coordination of transportation and vehicle routing. This will contribute to ABCO’s mission of exceeding customers’ highest expectations by:

Providing customers with accurate and timely fulfillment of deliveries, both by overseeing the loading of merchandise onto delivery trucks and by routing trucks in the most efficient manner

Coordinating nighttime offloading, receiving and loading functions in an organized and accurate manner in order to ensure that inventory records are correctly updated and maintained
Requirements:

Experience: At least 2 years warehouse and/or routing management
-
Education: high school diploma; Associates Degree or Technical/Vocational School a plus

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
-
Vehicle Routing and DOT Compliance
-
Routes vehicles in the most efficient manner, being sure to consider the service related requests and needs of all customers
-
Recommends and implements procedures and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy of routing and trucking functions
-
Ensures that ABCO remains compliant with all DOT rules and regulations
-
Maintains all reports and documents required by DOT, including:
-
Fuel Reporting
-
International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA)
-
Reviewing all Log Books
-
Nighttime Personnel and Operations Management
-
Responsible for management of between 8 and 10 direct reports, including both union and non-union employees
-
Coordinates and oversees all nighttime operations of the Distribution Center, including:

Offloading
-
Receiving
-
Invoicing
-
Branch to Branch Transfers
-
Loading
-
Manages the outbound flow of merchandise to ABCO’s branches, as well as directly to customers
-
Position Knowledge and Training
-
Maintains thorough and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of:

Routing software and programs
-
DOT rules and regulations
-
SxE functionality, especially as it relates to transfers, direct orders, and inventory movement
-
Warehouse management systems
-
Attends all mandated company training programs as directed
-
Attends safety meetings and training programs as directed
